Morgan Stanley $9,000,000,000 Check

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

morgan-stanley-9-billion-check-tokyo

What’s ironic is that I recently received a check from Morgan Stanley for $8.76 and that check bounced. I had to pay a fee that was worth more than the check. Always read the fine print.

dinca-subscribe

Subscribe to the Dinca RSS feed by clicking the yellow box above or by clicking this link. If you use Firefox, live bookmarks is a neat feature to use. You can implement this by selecting bookmarks from the top toolbar and then selecting Subscribe to this Page. Another neat way to go is downloading a desktop reader such as NewsFire (mac), RSSOwl (mac & pc), and of course there is Google Reader. You can also add Dinca to your iGoogle front page. Personally, I like to use NewsFire, and then I add the feeds from all of my favorite websites. Do you like Dinca enough to add it 2 your feed reader? Try our product.

Native American Spirit Art

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

“Transition” by Brian McGovern

native-american-spirit-art

Part of a mountain landscape, these Native American rock dudes have transcended, in spirit, to become part of their surrounding landscape.  What puzzles me is that these spirits still carry anthropomorphic qualities.

Don’t go out looking for these people — usually the human eye is too tame to see sacred visions — however, the human eye is capable of viewing sacred visions on the internet.  Thanks to the internet, we see sacred visions.  In summary, don’t go outside looking for spiritual inspiration; stay inside on the internet.

This divine portrait captures the Blue Whale, mid-air, as it launches from the murky depths.  Mother whale is making an effort to recharge her spirit — she also needs to feed her babies — this will happen (more…)

I made this during the dead months of Winter.  With Summer approaching I figure it’s appropriate to post this sucka.

Zooey Deschanel: Twin Peaks Baby

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

zooey-deschanel-red-heels-bike

This is what you get when you cross the DP of Twin Peaks (Caleb Deschanel), with an actress from Twin Peaks (Mary Jo Deschanel). Zooey Deschanel is a Twin Peaks baby — further evidence that Twin Peaks is the best television show ever.

zooey-deschanel-classy

Zooey, you’re really cute and all, but come on, you gotta start picking good movies.  Seriously, The HappeningYes Man? Actually, I love every film you’re in, and your music is divine.

I recently watched Matt Anselton’s Gigantic (2008); you were adorable in the film, and you gave a distinguished performance; however, the character of Harriet Lolly was underdeveloped, and Matt Anselton sort of failed to flush out her inner story and her background. I might have to write some short thoughts on Gigantic in the future.

Your best performance was in Winter Passing (2005). And in that film, when you’re on the bus sleeping, you wake up and ask, “where are we?” to which a women passenger replies, “We just passed Traverse City.”

Traverse City, Michigan, is my hometown and place of birth, you know.

Zooey, I wish it was you that said “Traverse City.”  My heart would have melted.

Birds Trek Toward Portal

Daily Image for Wed, 5/20/2009

Today’s daily found image depicts a flamingo and an ostrich as they make their way through dense, utopian foliage.  A portal lies ahead, but do these birds have intentions to enter the portal?  Anyone know?

CORRECTION:  There are three flamingos and zero ostriches.

'The Holy Grail'

“Guardians of the Holy Grail”
by Richard Fields

Below is a photo of the artist:

Richard Fields

Richard lives on Maui were he began his career by painting t-shirts at a t-shirt factory. He became so skillfull that this led him to painting on canvas – where his love of beauty, fantasy, and the Hawaiian islands came into full bloom.   His paintings are a blend of the mystical with the awesome nature beauty of Hawaii.  His images are currently for sale from a private collection on Maui, and available as museum-grade archival limited-edition giclee prints, and large-canvas original paintings.  Seeing many of these paintings all at once, from this private collection on Maui, induces the “feeling” of a “temple-museum”.

Well guys — guess what I just added to my wish-list?
