Free Screening this Sunday to Protest the Imprisonment of Iranian Filmmakers at Facets Cinematheque, Chicago

Dear friends,

Can you join us this Sunday, January 16, at 1 p.m. for a special free screening of Jafar Panahi’s THE CIRCLE, with special guests Kaveh Ehsani (of the International Studies Programa at DePaul and an expert on the Middle East) and Jerome McDonnell (the host of WBEZ’s Worldview)?

We have organized this screening to protest the harsh and unjust 6-year prison sentence meted out to Iranian filmmakers Jafar Panahi and his colleague, Mohammad Rasoulof. An additional 20-year ban on making or writing films, traveling, or giving interviews has been imposed on Panahi – one of the world’s most acclaimed and interesting filmmakers.

Seating is first-come-first-served. For more information on the screening or the film, click here.

Thank you! I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Sincerely,
Milos signature
