2010 Editing/Motion Reel by Andrew Rosinski

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Yep, here I go again, another shameless self promotion post: click this link to watch my 2010 motion design/editing ‘highlight’ reel.

I’ve been editing film/video for seven years now and I’ve been working with motion design for over a year now. For someone in this line of work, who’s looking for work, it’s essential to have a portfolio website, a reel, a business card, and of course, the old fashioned resume. I have three of the four.

My reel is a little over one minute in length; I must warn those with sensitive eyes that there is copious flashing and strobing colours, and rapid image flicker, which might harm the eyes of some, especially those with epilepsy.

Watch a high resolution quicktime of my reel here. Or watch the vimeo upload of this reel here. (The vimeo upload seemingly has issues with playback, at least on my computer.)

I’m always looking for work; please contact me if you or someone else needs any help. Thanks!

Technislov Trashablon | Video Installment/Issue #1

A continuing kinetic typographic video series, Technislov Trashablon draws inspiration from technological trash found on the internet.

Synopsis: Issue #1 serves as a  general introduction to the series.  (30 secs)

Whether it be threats to National Security, email scams & email phishing, general spam, pop-up windows, screen-scrapping or keylogging — the pile of trash is growing — and, it’s about time we start taking out the trash.  Better yet, let’s start recycling it.

Issues and technological vulnerabilities must be addressed.  As threats evolve, the abundance of these tech threats broaden; with this, the complexities deepen.  Technislov Trashablon explores issues exclusive to technology, seeking to educate the everyday computer user & web-surfer.  Issue #2 of Trashablon is in works and should be posted sometime next week.

trashseries1

Here are five issues of a faux-magazine I created titled, Technislov Trashablon.  The cover stories are actual search queries that internet “spiders” posted as comments on EK BLOG.

This nonsense was posted by evil spiders, of course — there are good and evil spiders — the good ones work for google ( yahoo, etc.) indexing sites, and the evil spiders try to log down your site, while promoting whatever stupid  website they secretly work for.   The authors and sub-headings, however, are loosely based on spider comments.

Print these as postcards and send nonsense to your favorite relative, friend, ex-girlfriend, or international pen-pal. Print them with a standard photo border on as a 4 x 6″ media.
