This is what you get when you cross the DP of Twin Peaks (Caleb Deschanel), with an actress from Twin Peaks (Mary Jo Deschanel). Zooey Deschanel is a Twin Peaks baby — further evidence that Twin Peaks is the best television show ever.

Zooey, you’re really cute and all, but come on, you gotta start picking good movies.  Seriously, The Happening?  Yes Man? Actually, I love every film you’re in, and your music is divine.

I recently watched Matt Anselton’s Gigantic (2008); you were adorable in the film, and you gave a distinguished performance; however, the character of Harriet Lolly was underdeveloped, and Matt Anselton sort of failed to flush out her inner story and her background. I might have to write some short thoughts on Gigantic in the future.

Your best performance was in Winter Passing (2005). And in that film, when you’re on the bus sleeping, you wake up and ask, “where are we?” to which a women passenger replies, “We just passed Traverse City.”

Traverse City, Michigan, is my hometown and place of birth, you know.

Zooey, I wish it was you that said “Traverse City.”  My heart would have melted.
