A trail-blazer in the American Avant-Garde film movement, Portland-based Harry Smith (1923-1991) preferred to label himself a painter, yet he his widely known for his wild-minded experimental films.

  • Great stuff. How did you find out about Harry? Is he one of your favorites? It’s so strange, I can’t imagine this work coming out of the 50s. It seemed a little ahead of it’s time. What do I know though…
